I was walking along the beach at Taft wishing I would see a pelican or two... I looked up and a there they were by the hundreds, some flying overhead and others resting on the island. Then a peice of cup coral stretched out of the coastal rocks with the Three Capes nestled in its' saucer. (A saucer appears in a shell that when flipped over has a curved secondary shelf, of sorts, hanging on the underside.) A little bit of the tropics nestling a bit of the Oregon Coast seascape. The sea has been known to mess with peoples minds. Long stints at sea on a boat, the lonely life of a lighthouse keeper, or ones mind playing tricks on them through the fog. Every seadog has a fishtale to tell. Next time I'm wishing for a whale of a tale. This is composed of at least 6 separate photos from the same day on the same beach. We hit several beaches and the last one Mom and I could get within 20 feet of the pelicans which appeared on every beach we were on. Not sure who was stalking whom? I placed a texture over the top of the composite of a sandstone cliff that I inverted and played with the hue and saturation to get the color I dreamed of.
