Two pairs left stranded on the beach "high spot" while the humans that fill them became totally consumed sifting through the newly adjusted sand on their great mission for more shiny agates to add to their collection. This is a great passtime on the Oregon coast for vistiors and locals. It is a usual site to find people laying all over the beach at the tide line searching with either hands or sifters on a stick. If you do not know what they are doing it can be shocking to find that many people strewn all over the beach.
